Equipment Delivery Driver

James V. Augustine IV, 30, a 1983 graduate of West Springfield High School, died Oct. 6 at home in Springfield. The Northern Virginia medical examiner's office said determination of the cause of his death is pending completion of tests.

Mr. Augustine was born in Washington. He attended Northern Virgina Community College and George Mason University. In 1984, he lived for six months in Seattle, where he worked in a delicatessen. That year he also worked in a ski resort in Park City, Utah, and spent three months camping in the Grand Canyon National Park.

In the Washington area, he was a construction equipment delivery driver for Wharton Supply co. and a negative retoucher for Goodway Graphics. In recent years, Mr. Augustine had suffered from paranoid schizophrenia. He was a member of the Social Center for Psychiatric Rehabilitation in Alexandria.
